robin: Is PHOB moving?
NJ open mics: Pratt's in EHT has always been the location for lots of music in EHT
Amissa: Hi all. If we fall, we don't need self-recrimination or blame or anger - we need a reawakening of our intention and a willingness to recommit, to be whole-hearted once again.I am from Barbados and also now am reading in English, give please true I wrote the following sentence: "Airline tickets for for the best discount airline tickets and cheap holiday packages cheap flights and discount airline tickets for travel on all."Thank you very much :). Amissa.
Trenton: Could you help me. I never vote for anyone; I always vote against.I am from Benin and now teach English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "Get the airline tickets, cheap flights, cheap travel widget on widgetbox."8-) Thanks in advance. Trenton.
Jonathan: I do have one more thing that I would like to see at the shop. Power outlets that the customers can use. I'm here reading this fine blog , but my laptop power is low. The improvements that have been made so far are awesome. I really like that the couches have been moved, and the new pastries are good. Keep it up.
conny: I like the shop-it has a real city chic appeal. I think you could make a coffee corner lounge section for those who like to sit back and relax after commuting to work in Atlantic City. I am from the suburbs so I look for the industrial loft look to escape from the subhurbs. I really enjoyedthe bear claw pastry and cafe mocha !!! The staff who waited on me were very helpful and friendly. I hope to see some merchandise with your logo next time because my last name is Pratt, too.
Jonathan: I really like the shop, and I go there often. The only thing that I can say I would like to see is more comfort. the place is pretty industrial feeling right now. I would like to see a couple of comfortable chairs in the corner of the "quote" wall and the far wall with a side table in the corner and another couch or 2 somewhere in the middle of the floor. I do love "the wall" and I'm glad you have free Wi-Fi. Everyone is friendly and I have fun there.
Stacy: It sounds like you asked for two espressos thinking that you were asking for two cups of coffee. If you go to a coffee house, cafe, or espresso bar and ask for an espresso, what you will get is a shot-sized glass holding a small amount of very strong coffee. These are usually ordered to be consumed right there and they are served in very small cups. If your order was for two espresso's "to go", then what you received in each take out cup was a 1-1/2 ounce shot of espresso. If you ordered flavo
Jeffrey: I just got a cup of coffee to go, and when I got home to drink it, it was honestly the most expensive thing I have ever paid for, for one gulp and I am not even joking, there was honestly barly anything in my cup it wasn't even half full. Can someone please answer me and tell me if the person who made it didn't know what she was doing, or did I just spend 3 bucks are 2 little cups of coffee when I could have went to WAWA and got two 24oz coffees for the same PRICE! please someone comment on this

Sorry its been so long...

I believe humans get a lot done, not because we're smart, but because we have thumbs so we can make coffee.  ~Flash Rosenberg

Its been a bit since I've posted, and I have to start making more of an effort to post at the very least weekly.  So, a quick update:

We have been doing well.  We get a little busier each day.  I love working in the cafe and love most of my customers. For a new place, we have some regulars which is a huge compliment.  I am glad to see people come back.  I have a terrific staff.  I was pretty sick one week and they pretty much just ran the place for me--maybe even doing a better job!  LOL

Our roaster has just been painted and I know they are about to fire it up to see how it goes.  Once they do that, we should be in business shortly.  We have someone roasting for us right now, a really great guy, who has been sooo helpful.  But there's nothing like doing your own roasting.

Things that have happened:

We had one customer who thought I was a witch.  Perhaps it was my pink hair or unique taste in jewelry.  As far as the jewelry goes, let's just say I like to wear "new age" jewelry.

We had an issue with our one fridge and of course, it was the same day as a huge dairy delivery.  The guys at the Italian place next door were absolute angels!  They just had our delivery go right into their walkin.  I saw that giant fridge and I was in heaven!  And, the equipment guy replaced our fridge the next morning.  It worked out great.

The "I'm just looking" thing.  What is that?  It baffles me.   We have a million people who come in, take a look, say "I'm just looking" and leave.  They aren't rude, they are actuslly very nice, but its strange.  I could see if we were a retail place, but to come in and just look in a coffee place is odd to me.  For me to know if I would want to return to a place, I would have to try something.  Oh, well.

Well, we just had some customers come in, so I better get moving.

Strange taste in jewelry? I hope you weren't wearing the coffeepot earrings I made you. :)

So nice to hear that things are picking up, and that you have good neighbors.

I've done the "just looking" thing - I don't know what I want, and ON THAT DAY, that food turns out not to be it, or I'm not hungry but I want to see what food a new place has for next time.

I always feel funny when I do it but it happens. I do try to always go back later at some point and buy from the place I "just looked" at.

Hi! I really am glad that you guys opened up a local coffee house. I've been hoping for a local coffee house besides Starbucks. I'm a big supporter of the little guy =) I love the homey feeling I get when I sit in for a warm beverage served in a ceramic mug and the service is friendly and outstanding. You really should consider closing later though! Perhaps 8 pm?

Hi, Jennifer... Thanks so much for your insight! I should have expanded on what I originally typed. Someone who is looking to come back later makes perfect sense (like going next door for dinner and coming here afterwards). Its the people who come in and we never see again that baffles me and don't even want to try a free coffee when offered. Go figure! As far as what we serve, we are now baking fresh muffins and cookies everyday and we should be getting our case back soon (the one that was damaged), which will feature some REALLY delicious desserts. Thanks for coming in and be sure to introduce yourself next time!

Hi, Nancy... Thanks for your feedback and for your support. It means so much that you enjoy coming here--its what I want for the community. We just expanded our hours and are open until 8pm weekdays and then 9pm Friday & Saturday. We're also starting entertainment on Friday evenings, just to see how it goes.

Hurray for extended hours AND entertainment! I'll be sure to come in soon again.

I hope the extended hours work for your business. I think it helps that you are located directly on the Pike which may be very convenient for anyone to get to.

Wishing you the best of luck and keep us posted!:)
